How this company works

Independent means we don't work for a manufacturer. We aren't affiliated with any of them, so nobody upstream tells us which part to push or how long to spend at your house. If a machine can be repaired, we say so. If it's past the point where a repair makes sense, we say that too, and you can decide what to do with the information. Every job gets a written quote before any work starts, so you know what you're agreeing to. We work on all major residential brands, gas and electric, which is the other side of being independent. One shop, whatever's in your kitchen or your basement laundry room.

What a visit looks like

Lawrence is home base, and we cover twelve Midwestern states from here. That's a lot of ground, so scheduling works by area. When you call or send the quote form, we match you to the route that reaches your town and give you a window inside our 8 AM to 5 PM hours. We take calls seven days a week, Monday through Sunday, which helps when a freezer quits on a Saturday morning.

  • 1You call or send the form Tell us the appliance, the brand, and what it's doing wrong. Noises, error codes, water on the floor, all of it helps. We'll pick a window inside our 8 AM to 5 PM hours, any day of the week.
  • 2We diagnose it on site The technician runs the machine, checks the parts that usually fail first, and looks at the things around it too. Hard water scale and a cold basement cause more appliance trouble than most people expect.
  • 3You get a written quote Before anything comes apart for repair, you see the price in writing and say yes or no. If you'd rather not spend the money on an older unit, that's a fine answer.

After the visit, in their words

“Fixed the ice maker and showed me why it jammed so I can stop it happening again.”

Ray S.Clinton Township, MI

“Washer walked across the floor on spin for a year. Turns out one shock absorber. Wish I had called sooner.”

Beth L.Lee's Summit, MO

“Showed up in the window they promised, wore boot covers, cleaned up the lint mess. Small things, but they add up.”

Omar F.Carmel, IN

Questions about how we work

Do you work for an appliance brand?

None. We work independently of all manufacturers, which is why we can tell you plainly when a repair is not worth doing.

How far do you travel?

a

What will a visit cost?

Every job gets a written quote before any work starts: the visit, the parts and the labour. You approve it, or you do not, and the invoice matches the quote.

When can I reach a person?

Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT. Outside those hours the quote form is the fastest way to reach us, and we call back the next working day.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form and describe what you hear, smell, or see. An error code helps. So does a puddle. We ask the brand and rough age so the van carries the parts we are likely to need.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

Our technician tests the machine instead of guessing: water lines, heating elements, drain pumps, control boards. Then we explain what failed in plain words before any wrench turns.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and clean up

Common parts ride with us, so a lot of repairs finish on that first visit. Special-order parts get scheduled right away. We run the cycle with you standing there, then haul off the old part and the packaging.

Why homeowners call us

  • Hard water is our specialtyMidwest water leaves scale on everything it touches. Crusted dishwasher spray arms. Clogged ice maker lines, and washers and water heaters full of mineral buildup. We know what that grit does to valves and seals, so we treat the cause instead of the symptom.
  • Basement laundry roomsBasement setups fail differently than upstairs ones, between the long drain runs, the cold concrete, and lint packed into a vent that runs through the rim joist. We check the venting and the drain path too, not only the machine, so the same problem does not come back.
  • Freeze-thaw season readyGarage freezers quit in January. Ice makers stop when the supply line freezes, and dryers labor when the vent hood ices over. Seasonal swings break appliances in fairly predictable ways, and those are the first things we look at on a winter call.
  • Independent, all major brandsWe are not tied to any manufacturer, so we work on whatever is sitting in your kitchen or laundry room: refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, dryers, freezers. One shop, one call, whatever badge is on the door.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and the rest.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so, often right on the phone.
