Cooling problems come in flavors, and the flavor matters. If the fresh food side is warm but the freezer is still frozen solid, that points toward airflow between the two compartments. Both sides warm? Then the sealed system or the compressor circuit moves up the list. When things got warm slowly over a few days, we suspect frost buildup or a failing defrost part, while sudden and total warmth usually means something quit running outright. Airflow and frost: the cheap end of the list
Most fridges make cold in one spot and blow it where it needs to go. Block that path and the fresh food side warms up while the freezer stays fine. Overpacking the freezer, stacking bags against the back vents, or a door that is not sealing will all cut off airflow. Make sure nothing is holding a door slightly open, and close a dollar bill in the gasket to feel for grip. Pull the unit out and vacuum visible dust from the coils if you can reach them. Listen for a fan. Stop there. Do not remove interior back panels, touch wiring, or open sealed refrigerant lines.
